Great conversation. When both of you were talking about hope, I think what Mr. McLaren was talking about was complacency - hope with an attitude there’s nothing for me to do while hope that leads to action is called compassion. Where there is suffering there is also some action to take and the hope that drives it that says I may and can relieve some suffering.

This was so lovely. I can’t tell you how nice it was to listen to thoughtful and wise conversation. The world needs more of this. To LOVE- the great spiritual radical revolution.

I appreciate this conversation bravely questioning the “theology of the materialist West.” In his books and at the CAC, Brian’s teaching of Jesus as an indigenous leader recontextualizes my understanding of my faith.

This is wonderful, as is the podcast. I've recently realized that trying to get my head around the concept of God is easier when I conceive of God as Nature, of Natural Law, and I now have another way to think of God, of Spirit. The Bible tells us that God is in us, and if that is so, there really is eternal life, because Energy is not going away. Beautiful. I am SO buying this book. Thank you, Soul Boom Team!
